Anna threatens to return to England, but the king detains her
with introducing of his 67 offspring among them, the Crown
Prince, Chulalonghorn. Enchanted by her new students, Anna
Reconsiders.

As she adjusts to her new accommodations at the palace,
Anna is overwhelmed by the presence of the King's many
fluttery wives, and find herself drawn to the lonely
Tuptim, who reveals her love for the Brumese emissary,
Lun Tha.

Diplomats. He places Anna in charge of all preparations. Resigned
once more to enduring the ignobility of the king's rule, Anna is
startle when he responds with an uncharacteristic gesture of
appreciation.

The dinner for the British dignitaries is an unqualified triumph,
although the attentions paid to Anna by an old friend, Sir Edward
Ramsay, arouse the King's wrath.

26.Finale Ultimo

Anna and Louis are packing the last of their belongings,
Lady Thiang appears with the news that he King is dying.
Anna finds the King in his study surrounded by wives and
children, and watches as he passes on the crown to his
eldest son. In his first hesitating moment as King.
Chulalongkorn reveals the influence of Anna's teaching, and
Anna, trembling with emotion, realizes the magnitude of her
Accomplishments. As Chulalongkorn ascends the throne,
the King dies, confident that his son will carry on in ways
that he could not.

Mother, now that the King is dying, does that make you

Anna
I suppose so, Louis. We can't hurt each other anymore.
